Accountant POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Duties and responsibilities

Develop a sound accounting system suitable for the organization and maintain proper books of accounts;
Develop a sound internal control system;
Provide tax management services, ensuring timely payment of statutory dues;
Provide the required linkage between Project finance management in Zanzibar and/or any other site with the head office in DSM;
Provide finance advice and assistance to project management/staff;
Conduct a financial review of performance on a regular basis to determine whether the company is meeting its objectives
li> Develop, in coordination with the Management Team, project operations plan;
Monitor the adherence of employees to guidelines, policies and procedures;
Prepare annual reports and submit before management/Board of Directors; and
Perform any other official business assigned by your superior.

Qualifications and experience
Bachelor Degree in Accountancy or equivalent qualification;
Not less than one year proven experience in accounting field;
Self starter, innovative and willing to take on new challenges;
Willingness to work in Zanzibar; and
Proficiency in both English and Swahili Language.
